I hope you packed your plenty of snowballs for your Minecraft holiday, because not only is the Chase the Skies game drop out – two ghastastic community challenges* just got added to your travel itinerary!

We take off at 8 am PT/17:00 CET on June 20 in both Java and Bedrock Edition, so join the rest of the community in taking your Minecraft adventures and vacation wardrobe to new heights with rewards!

YOUR FIRST STOP? CREATIVE MODE!

Here, you and your fellow players will embark on a quest to help spawn 50 million happy ghasts . A staggering number only overshadowed by the majestic sight of the Vibrant Visual skyline! Once the collective quest is completed, you’ll all earn the Ghast Riding Swimmer skin in Java Edition, and the Ghast Rider Floatie Character Creator item in Bedrock.

Open the inventory when in Creative mode and open the tab for spawn eggs. Select the happy ghast spawn egg, then tap on surfaces in your world to start spawning happy ghasts!

SECOND STOP: SURVIVAL MODE

Here the hunger of ghastlings knows no limit! Help feed snowballs to one million ghastlings and you’ll all earn the Happy Ghast Pilot skin in Java and the Happy Ghast Pilot Gear Character Creator item in Bedrock.

To begin, you will need a ghastling, which spawns from dried ghast blocks! You can find the dried ghast block in the Nether, barter it from piglins, or craft it using ghast tears and a soul sand block. Once you have the dried ghast block, submerge it in water and it will soon spawn a hungry ghastling. Now you can start feeding it by tapping the ghastling with snowballs!

These community challenges lift off for both Java and Bedrock Edition on June 20 and run until you complete them. Once the community has reached the goals, all players can claim their new Character Creator items in the Dressing Room and Java skins at Community Challenges page . To participate, simply load one of your worlds, then start spawning happy ghasts and feeding snowballs to ghastlings like sky’s not the limit – just the beginning!

*Participation in the community challenge requires either Minecraft: Bedrock Edition or Minecraft: Java Edition (each sold separately).Rewards of Character Creator items require Bedrock Edition, and rewards of Java skins require Java Edition.
